How it works
From a blank page to paid in three steps
-
1
Add your customer
A name is enough to start. Add the address and tax number before you send, and an EU VAT number is checked for you.
-
2
Write the invoice
Add items or hours, a discount and tax. The sheet next to the form updates as you type, and the draft saves itself.
-
3
Send it and get paid
Your customer opens the invoice on a page made for their phone and pays by card. The money goes to your Stripe account.
The editor
See the invoice take shape as you type
No more guessing how it will look. The invoice sits beside the form and updates with every change, with the sums worked out for you. Your draft saves itself, so a closed tab never costs you an invoice.
- A live sheet next to the form, ready to print or save as a PDF
- Drafts that save themselves, with a clear saved indicator
- Sections with marks that show what still needs attention
- A checklist of what is missing before you can send
Items, hours and tax
Bill for what you actually did
Mix products and hours on one invoice. Type a time the way you say it, take off a discount, and choose how tax is treated. Every sum is worked out the same way, every time.
- Hours as 1.5 or 1h30, at a rate per hour
- Percent or fixed discounts, taken off before tax
- Tax added, tax included in the prices, or no tax with a note
- Tax shown per rate, rounded the way accountants expect
Look and feel
An invoice your customers will remember
Choose a template and an accent colour once and every invoice looks like it came from an established business. What you send is saved as it was, so a later change never alters an invoice that is out.
- Classic, modern, minimal and timesheet templates
- Six accent colours, with your name and details on top
- Notes, terms and a footer, with defaults you set once
- A service period and a reference or purchase order number
Customers
Know who you are billing
Keep every customer in one place with their address, tax number and payment terms. Pick one and the currency and terms fill in. A customer can be a booking guest, in one click.
- A customer directory with search and an archive
- EU VAT numbers checked against the official VIES service
- Payment terms from due on receipt to Net 60, or a date you choose
- Warnings, never blocks, when an address or number looks wrong
Stay on top
Always know who owes you what
The top of the page shows what is outstanding, what is overdue and what came in. Open, overdue, part paid and paid are worked out for you, and an invoice that is out is never edited, only voided.
- Outstanding, overdue, paid and drafts, per currency
- Search by number, customer or amount, and filter by status
- Record a bank transfer or cash payment yourself, part or full
- Invoice numbers in your own pattern, with no gaps

- Part payments and late payments are tracked for you
- Every payment shows up on your Payments page

Common questions
Does it cost anything?
Writing and sending invoices is free. A card payment carries Stripe's processing fee, the same as a paid booking.
Do I need Stripe?
To send an invoice, yes. Connect a Stripe account that can take payments. You can write and save drafts before that.
Where does the money go?
Straight to your own Stripe account, and Stripe pays it out to your bank. Timelydo never holds your money.
Which currencies can I invoice in?
Twenty nine, the currencies Stripe can charge in. You set a default and each customer can have their own.
Does Timelydo work out my tax?
No. You enter the tax rates you charge and choose one per item. Timelydo does the sums and prints them per rate, but does not decide which tax applies.
Is a customer's VAT number checked?
For EU numbers it is checked against the official VIES service. If that service is down, nothing is blocked and you can check again later.
Can I change an invoice after I send it?
No. To keep your books straight, an invoice that is out is never edited. Void it and write a new one, or duplicate it to start from a copy.
What if my customer pays by bank transfer?
Record the payment yourself, in full or in part, and the invoice updates. Card payments are recorded for you.
